Whether it's the perfect view from the windows angled toward the backyard, or the filtered natural light in the work space, not one detail of your design project occurs by chance.
Our design philosophy is based on the belief that people respond to two basic things:
Light: Light from the sun and artificial sources through the use of shade and shadow greatly affects the psychology of the spaces we create. People need the sun on a bright winter day and also need to control lighting in a space, based on their moods.
Scale and proportion: We respond to and create our impression of a room based on our own scale in that space. At Johnson Design, we seek to use scale and proportion that builds on the activity or function of that space. Clients will often say, "I don't know why, but this room makes me feel comfortable." Through our architectural training, we build spaces that appeal to the senses and provide comfort.
When you choose Johnson Design, every nuance is thought out and planned to enhance your experience while inside the building, while also working with the site and natural surroundings to create a special balance between the built form and nature.
Applying practical expertise in natural resources and sustainable design
Johnson Design endeavors to design buildings that blend well with the site and natural environment, paying attention to the sun in the sky during the changing seasons and utilizing our knowledge of energy efficient and eco-friendly options.
Listening to clients, meeting their needs, and fulfilling their dreams
Johnson Design believes that listening to our clients and being good communicators is essential to a successful design. By partnering with clients during the design phase of their projects, we can help them realize their vision in a way that's unique to their personalities.
Big or small, commercial or residential, every Johnson Design project is a finely-crafted masterpiece of comfort, beauty and livability.
